Voices From the Journey

"I wasn't sure what to expect in the beginning. But it was so much better than what I could have thought. Thank you so much!"

— Intensive Client

"The flow of the day was well paced, including breaks and ending early enough to have time after to process. I liked the variation in modalities used. It kept things interesting and gave me a way to connect to differently."

— Intensive Client

"I arrived broken and hopeless with feelings of failure and a loss of purpose. I was no longer able to push back the images of abuse and years of secrecy and confusion. Barbara asked me simple questions and affirmed my pain and helped me feel seen and heard. She introduced me to the power of the Holy Spirit and the unconditional love of the Lord. Through clinical techniques as a master psychotherapist, and through Biblical knowledge and wisdom, Barbara continues to guide me in Redecision Therapy and experience the freedom of God's grace and protection. After decades of talk therapy with a variety of therapists, I had given up on counseling. I am grateful to my husband for encouraging me to call Barbara's office and I am forever grateful for the woman who answered the phone, listened to me cry, and immediately scheduled me to see Barbara. My phone rang seconds later and it was Barbara, herself, and my healing began. Today, I walk, with confidence, through my past and my present. I am able to embrace my God given gifts, forgive those who have caused me pain and isolation, and I actively pursue opportunities to share my testimony with others so they feel the common bond of trauma, but hear the truth in God's restoration, and the hope of a fulfilling life of promises found in the healing within working with Barbara and the blessings of a Godly woman and therapist."

— Former Client

"The first time I came to see Barbara I was in a desperate place. I had tried multiple other therapists and types of counseling. Nothing was helping beyond essentially medicating the pain and trauma I was working through. By the time I reached her, it would have been similar to someone coming into the emergency room on a crash cart. Barely alive. I needed assistance to feed and dress myself and was not safe to drive a car. My first Intensive with Barbara put me on life support and gave me the first glimpse of hope in many many months. I continued forward with her guidance and multiple Intensives to follow. I can honestly say that I am alive today as a result of her therapeutic techniques and work. I and my family will be forever grateful."

What Unhealed Trauma
Is Costing You Right Now

Trauma does not stay in the past. It shows up every day — in your decisions, your relationships, your body, and your faith.

Your Business & Career

Trauma hijacks decision-making, leadership, and executive function. High achievers often trace their biggest blind spots directly to unresolved wounds.

Your Finances

Reckless or fear-based spending, self-sabotage, and risk avoidance are frequently trauma responses — not necessarily personality traits. The roots run deep.

Your Marriage & Relationships

Trauma distorts attachment, intimacy, trust, and communication. The people closest to you absorb the impact of wounds they didn't cause.

Your Body & Health

The body remembers trauma and often manifests its objections through chronic pain, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, and physical symptoms — often the nervous system signaling unprocessed trauma.

Your Calling & Ministry

Wounded leaders wound people. Ministers, pastors, and Kingdom builders carry heavy weight — and unhealed trauma limits the full expression of your calling.

Your Hope

Perhaps most devastating — trauma convinces you that things cannot change. That this is just who you are. That healing is for other people. It is a lie.

"You have been managing your pain for years. Imagine what your life can look like when you actually heal it."
— Barbara Kohler, MS, CRC, LCMHC, NCC

Six Pillars of the
Trauma Intensive

This is not traditional weekly therapy. It is three concentrated days of root-cause clinical and spiritual work designed to produce transformation that years of weekly sessions often cannot reach.

Pillar 01

Re-Decision Therapy — Foundational Clinical Work

Symptoms are signals. We go beneath the surface to address the early decisions, beliefs, and wounds that drive your current struggles. We look at your individual personality and what works for you, and what does not. Using Re-Decision Therapy is a powerful clinical foundation for the Christian Psychotherapy Intensive!

Pillar 02

EMDR & Trauma Processing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is one of the most evidence-based trauma treatments available. In an intensive format, we can complete what months of weekly EMDR sessions might only begin — unlocking stored trauma from the nervous system at depth.

Pillar 03

HeartSync

HeartSync is a Spirit-led ministry approach that addresses fragmentation of the heart — the disconnected parts of self that form in response to wounding. Through HeartSync, we work toward integration, wholeness, and a restored capacity for relationship with God and others.

Pillar 04

Faith Integration & TRET

Trauma Resolution Energy Therapy (TRET) is an excellent technique for addressing unconscious trauma that affects your physical health. Barbara does not practice medicine; however, when you heal the emotions, your body often follows. Trauma affects your emotions and your physical health. Barbara applies a Christ-centered approach when using this energy technique, as devout Christians are sometimes concerned about any technique that is energy related. Barbara is, as well. Therefore, only those techniques that can be supported by Scripture are used. Clients have experienced wonderful breakthroughs with this technique, even biblical deliverance. God designed the human body to be able to release itself from trauma. Barbara will show you how if you are interested in applying this technique (optional).

Pillar 05

Judicial Prayer

God wants you to have a clean conscience. Many times, trauma leads to sinful behavior — and you are likely already judging yourself more harshly than Jesus ever would. The Court of Mercy gives you a place where you know, without question, that you are fully forgiven. Having a clear conscience is often a byproduct of the Intensive. Barbara uses the Courts of Heaven prayer paradigm to seek the Lord with the client as to obstacles to business, relationships, and finances. Trauma often destroys multiple areas of your life. This prayer paradigm is powerful when used the right way.

Pillar 06

The Maintenance-Free Victory of the Cross

One of Barbara's deepest goals in working with trauma survivors is that they experience the transforming power of the cross of Christ in the healing process. Barbara cannot guarantee you will experience this on your first visit — but she believes it is possible, and she pursues it with every client.

At The Kohler Group, PLLC, we affectionately call this a "Barbara-ology" — because Barbara believes wholeheartedly in the power of the cross working through you as you heal. That you can have real, lasting victory in any area of your life. It takes time, process, hard work, and faith. But what more worthy goal could there be? And it is a tangible goal. Let's go for it.

"'For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds,' declares the LORD."
Jeremiah 30:17  ·  NASB

Who the Trauma Intensive
Is Designed For

Business Owners & Entrepreneurs

You've built something significant — but trauma is creating blind spots, relational friction, high turnover, and a ceiling you seem to break through.

Ministers & Church Leaders

You carry others' wounds while your own go unaddressed. Intensive work provides a confidential, clinical, and spiritually safe space to finally heal.

High Achievers & Executives

Success has not brought the peace you expected. You've managed the pain well — but "managing" is not healing.

Those Willing to Travel

Barbara works with clients nationally. She is a high achiever and she attracts those clients who do not settle for a mediocre life or tolerable recovery. The Intensive is worth the journey.

People in Crisis or Transition

Divorce, loss, ministry failure, business collapse, health crisis — sometimes the pain demands an intensive response rather than a weekly one.

Those Who Want Privacy

The Intensive format is private, discreet, and entirely individual. No groups. Complete confidentiality.
